Here is the information from the site that says Chinese Bitters should be started first if the liver is congested. This is similar, really, to your statement about taking CB between flushes. But for someone who hasn't taken the herbs before, they would take the CB 1st to decongest the liver, then the GCG, then a few days of CB again.
Julia Chang's words on the site:
"If the liver is congested, bile flow is restricted. As a result, there is insufficient bile in the gallbladder to push the stones out.
One of our products, Chinese Bitters (available exclusively from Prime Health Products, Tel: 416-248-2930), has been found to be very effective in decongesting the liver. However, Chinese Bitters should not be taken in conjunction with Gold Coin Grass (GCG) because they may be too much for the liver and gallbladder to adjust. Chinese Bitters is usually started first. After a few weeks of liver decongestion, Gold Coin Grass can be started to replace Chinese Bitters.
When the Gold Coin Grass is finished, Chinese Bitters may be taken again for a few days before the flush. During the flush, Chinese Bitters can still be taken to ensure that the liver is not congested."
This is basically what my little paper says: "After 3 weeks of Chinese Bitters, start taking GCG instead of the Bitters. When the bottle of GCG is finished, you can do the flush. Chinese Bitters
may be taken again during the flush or even started a few days before the flush to ensure that the liver is not congested."
So, after talking with Mrs. Chang on the phone, I started taking CB, which I took for 3 weeks, then the GCG, which I have been taking for almost 4 weeks. I have some of the Bitters left, which I was planning to take the last few days before the flush in order to do a final decongesting of the liver.
My earlier question had to do with my concern about how many days to use the CB before the flush, since it is described in the vague term of "a few days." But after rereading all of this and thinking about it, I'm realizing that it probably isn't going to matter whether it's 3 days or 5.
I believe if I build up the dosage of CB for a few days, as you suggest, and take ACV, ginger and dandelion tea, my liver will become decongested enough so that the stones (that have already been crushed by 4 weeks of taking GCG) will be able to come through just fine when I do the flush next week.
As always, you have been very helpful. Your comments made me go back and reread the site, as well as my little paper. I feel clearer about it all. I think that my liver is very congested because my Great Smokies liver panal showed phase 2 was not detoxing normally. So, the extra Bitters will be good to take along with the teas and ACV.
I will appreciate any further comments you might have.
